Exhibition – Newsletter February 2018

The latest news from the Exhibition Team

We are pleased to announce our guest artists this year are Roy and Jacqueline Abbott, who are based in the heart of the Shropshire Hills.

Roy works as an Artist Blacksmith whilst Jacqueline is a Glass Artist and they work collaboratively and individually to create stunning pieces for both the home, garden and to wear. To get a taste of what might be on show you can look at Roy’s Website and Jacqueline’s Website.

There will be opportunities during the Exhibition to meet Roy and Jaqueline, at both our opening reception on the evening of Monday 30th July and in the afternoon on Saturday 4th August when they host a “meet the artist” session.

We will also be running two workshops this year, led by two of the Exhibition’s previous exhibitors. Rob Leckey will be showing how to “paint without brushes” and Richard Childs will be taking us on a camera walk. More details will be available very soon and bookings will open in April, but to see some of their work you can visit Rob Leckey’s Website and Richard Childs’ Website.

Important information

You may be aware that as of the 13th January 2018 that surcharges for paying for services via credit or debit cards can no longer be passed on to a customer when they wish to pay by card, rather than cash or cheque. This was something we have previously done to help us offset the PayPal charges involved. This year we will be dropping the 5p charge for online entries so that all entries will be £1 each whether you pay online via the PayPal system or by cheque for postal entries. This does mean that for the first time in a number of years we will need to increase our commission rate from 17½ % to 20 % to help with the Exhibition’s increased running costs.
