Despite our best efforts we are really sorry to announce that due to the ongoing restrictions that we are living under it has proved impossible to safely organise our Church Stretton Arts Festival in the way that we have all come to know and love. This means that we have had to revise our plans for this year’s event and this includes the cancellation of the Art, Crafts and Photography Exhibition in addition to all our usual large scale indoor music and drama events.

The committee is very aware of the responsibility it has to ensure that the community of Church Stretton and the surrounding area has some artistic performances to look forward to in the summer, so in a complete departure from our normal events we are hoping to organise three outdoor performances in Rectory Field. This will enable social distancing to still take place keeping everyone safe. So please put the dates in your diary – 31st July, 1st and 3rd August. More information will be forthcoming in the next couple of months with details of the events that we hope will take place over that weekend.

We are also hoping that our free coffee concerts are still able to go ahead during the week commencing 26th July. Local musicians will bring us a variety of music from chamber to classical, jazz to folk. During the week commencing 2nd August we hope to have three organ recitals by visiting organists in various local churches.

We appreciate that this year the Festival is looking very different but we really hope that you will come and enjoy the performances that we have been able to arrange thereby supporting both the Festival and the performers.

We look forward to welcoming you to each of them.

Here’s some general info about our Exhibition, in normal years…

About the Exhibition

The exhibition is a non-competitive showcase for amateur and professional artists, craft workers and photographers living within 30 miles of Church Stretton. You will find hundreds of paintings, collage, photography and various forms of craftwork on display. Most of the work in the exhibition is for sale.
