By entering your work into the Exhibition it indicates that you have read, understood and agreed to the Conditions of Entry as listed below.

- The Exhibition is open to artists, crafters and photographers who live within 30 miles of Church Stretton. (Exceptions to this rule will be by invitation only.)
- Minimum age to enter is 18.
Entry fees, commission and stewarding:
- All entries cost £1 per exhibit, there is no charge for entering cards.
(Diptychs and Triptychs will be charged as one entry if they are being sold together, please advise us of their total size on entry so we can plan our hanging strategy) - A commission of 20% will be charged on all sales. It will take a week or two for us to finalise our accounts. We will need your bank details to enable us to make an online bank transfer direct to you. None of those details will be kept after payment is made.
- Exhibitors are required to steward for TWO time slots during the course of the Exhibition. Slots are 1 to 1.5 hours long depending on the time of day. These can be consecutive or booked as two independent slots.
Entries:
- Works shown in previous Church Stretton Arts Festival Exhibitions are not eligible for re-submission.
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant, who will retain copyright of the work. Copies in any form of original or reproduced work of other artists will not be accepted.
- AI generated images are not accepted.
- Artwork, crafts and cards developed from pre-printed designs, kits, and readymade components will not be acceptable.
- The Exhibition committee reserves the right to exclude work that is deemed to be unsuitable in an exhibition of this nature and will notify you accordingly.
- Only ONE item per entrant may be entered as NOT FOR SALE (NFS).
- Whilst we hope to display all submitted works, if space is limited some items may be held in reserve. This decision will be made on receiving day after all the entries have arrived, and exhibitors will be informed as soon as possible. If you have any concerns about the size of your submissions please contact the organisers beforehand.
- An email address is our preferred means of contacting Exhibitors.
- Exhibitors should arrange insurance for their work if required. Whilst every effort is made to protect your work, the Exhibition cannot accept responsibility for any items being stolen, damaged or lost.
- Entries open on Monday 13th April and close on Tuesday 30th June.
- Saturday 25th July from 9.30am – 12.30pm: receiving time for all exhibits. Please do not arrive any earlier – we need time to get all our volunteers in place.
- Monday 27th July: opening reception 7.30pm – 9pm. £5 to include a glass of wine or soft drink.
- Tuesday 28th July to Saturday 8th August: Exhibition open 10.30am – 5pm every day. This year we will be celebrating 60 years since the Church Stretton Arts Festival was first founded, so admission to view the Exhibition will be free to all visitors.
- Sunday 9th August from 9.30am – 12.30pm: collection for both purchased items and unsold works.
The organisers cannot be responsible for work which is not collected at the stated time.
A maximum of 6 Browsers – flat, unframed work, firmly mounted and protected in a plastic sleeve. These will be displayed in floor-standing browser racks.
A maximum of 3 Framed or box canvas – maximum size 90cm x 90cm – painting, drawing, mixed media, original prints from linocut or block print, original giclée prints (not copies of other artwork).
INSTRUCTIONS:
1: Please attach a secure, stick-on label (positioned on the reverse of the item where possible).
2: Labels must include the following information: Name of entrant, Title of work, Price (in whole pounds please) or NFS (Not for Sale).
3: Items for hanging must be prepared as follows:
- String all works securely from 2 points, one third down the frame.
- Check that the fixings are able to hold the weight of the item.
- If wire is being used, tape the sharp ends together.
- Do not use clip frames as they are not compatible with our hanging hooks.
- Note that the metal clips attached to the backboard on an ‘off the shelf’ frame are not compatible with our hanging hooks; they do not have enough depth.
Please note that any exhibits for hanging which do not meet these criteria, will incur a £5 fee per item for alterations to be made by our hanging team. Alternatively, you would have the option to withdraw the item. No refunds will be given if we are unable to hang your entry due to incorrect fixings.
Note: Original artwork (not AI) created entirely within a computer must be entered in the ART section.
A maximum of 6 Craft items – these can be ceramics, sculpture, textiles (framed or unframed), wood, glass, metal, willow, jewellery, leather, etc.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1: Please attach a secure label. A stick-on label positioned on the reverse of the item where possible, otherwise a tied-on label.
2: Labels must include the following information: Name of entrant, Title of work, Price (in whole pounds please) or NFS (Not for Sale).
3: Delicate items for hanging (quilts, wall hangings, etc.) must have hanging aids firmly attached, and able to hold the weight of the item.
A maximum of 6 Browsers – flat, unframed prints, firmly mounted and protected in a plastic sleeve. These will be displayed in floor-standing browser racks.
A maximum of 3 Framed prints or box canvas – maximum size 90cm x 60cm.

- Each artist may submit up to 20 cards for sale, as long as they have submitted at least one exhibit.
- All cards must have envelopes and be in a sealed plastic/eco-friendly equivalent presentation bag. Each individual card must have a label on the back with the artist’s name and the price of the card.
- Cards developed from pre-printed designs, kits, and readymade components will not be acceptable.

We collect various Personal Data (e.g. Name, Address etc) from you when you register to exhibit artwork in the Exhibition. Below, we outline why we need the data, what we do with it and what your rights are.
The Data Controller is Church Stretton Arts Festival and can be contacted at data.controller@strettonfestival.org.uk.
Purpose and legal basis of processing your Personal Data:
- We process your data so that we can arrange to display your artwork in the Exhibition. We treat the legal basis for processing your data as ‘Contractual’, as you are asking us to display your artwork, and we will arrange to do so. The personal contact data which we ask of you is necessary for us to carry out this arrangement. We also collect your bank details, which we need in order to pay you for any items sold.
- We also offer to add you to our Exhibition Newsletter Mailing List; if you agree to this, the legal basis for processing your email address for this purpose is ‘Consent’. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the list (which you can do directly with MailChimp using the link on every emailed Newsletter). If you do this, your email address will be removed from the list and you will not receive any further Newsletters.
- Online Registration: If you pay your entry fees online, personal data associated with that transaction are collected and stored directly by PayPal (which we use to process payments); PayPal has its own privacy statement applicable to such transactions.
Recipients of your Personal Data:
- We use MailChimp to email Art Exhibition Newsletters to you if you have opted in to this. MailChimp has its own Privacy Policy.
- We use PayPal to process Exhibition Artwork Entry Fees; PayPal has its own privacy statement applicable to such transactions.
Storage Period:
- We will only keep your Personal Data for as long as we are obliged to in order to fulfil our agreement and any legal obligations.
Your rights:
- Right to Request Personal Data: You have the right to request access to your Personal Data held by us; request correction to that Data; request removal of that Data; object to processing of that Data. Please use the Contact Details above to get in touch if you need to.
- Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, if you believe your Data have been mis-used in some way.
