About the Exhibition

Here is everything you need to know about Exhibition 2026.

The exhibition is a non-competitive showcase for amateur and professional artists, craft workers and photographers living within 30 miles of Church Stretton. Hundreds of paintings, collage, photography and various forms of craftwork are on display. Most of the work in the exhibition is for sale, and purchased items would be available for collection on Sunday 9th August between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

The Exhibition will again be held at St Lawrence Primary School, Shrewsbury Road, Church Stretton SY6 6EX.

Opening Times and Prices

Opening Reception
Monday 27th July 7.30-9pm, St Lawrence Primary School
Admission £5 including a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.

General Opening Times
The exhibition is open every day from Tuesday 28th July to Saturday 8th August, 10.30am to 5pm. Admission is FREE this year, as we celebrate 60 years since the Festival was founded.

Tea and coffee will be available to purchase during the exhibition.

Workshops

We are very pleased to be hosting three workshops this year. These are:

  • Weaving with English Rush led by Phi Evans (Wednesday 29th July)
  • Modern Calligraphy led by Alice Savery (Tuesday 4th August)
  • Botanical Cyanotype Printing led by Julie McMahon (Thursday 6th August).

Demonstrations

We are also excited to be hosting two demonstrations during the exhibition:

  • On Saturday 1st August, local artist Rob Leckey RBSA will be demonstrating his intriguing Painting Without Brushes technique.
  • On Sunday 2nd August, we invite you to Meet the Jewellery Maker to the Stars: Malcolm Morris will be showcasing beautiful pieces from his collection.

Exhibition Timetable (all at the school)

Monday 27th July: Opening Reception, 7.30-9pm
Tuesday 28th July to Saturday 8th August: Exhibition Open Daily, 10.30am to 5pm
Wednesday 29th July: Workshop: Weaving with English Rush – led by Phi Evans
Saturday 1st August: Painting without brushes demonstration – with Rob Leckey RBSA
Sunday 2nd August: Meet the jewellery maker to the stars – with Malcolm Morris
Tuesday 4th August: Workshop: Modern Calligraphy – led by Alice Savery

Saturday 8th August: Last day of exhibition – closes 5pm
Sunday 9th August: Artwork Collection Day; if you purchase any artwork you will normally be required to collect it on this day, between 9.30am and 12.30pm, although different arrangements can be made if this is not possible.

Access for the disabled

The exhibition is fully accessible from the car park at the school via the main front entrance. There is level access to all of the rooms and the toilets.
