Allan Walker was Head Chorister at St John’s College, Cambridge, under Dr George Guest, and later won a music scholarship to Harrow School before returning to St John’s, Cambridge in 1993 as Organ Scholar. He studied the organ with Andrew Nethsingha, Christopher Robinson and David Sanger and as Organ Scholar toured Australia, South Africa, North America and Europe, as well as performing in broadcasts and recordings for the BBC and foreign broadcasters. Allan has worked as Organist and Director of Music for several churches, including All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi. He has performed nationally and internationally as soloist, accompanist and conductor with solo performances including Rachmaninov’s 2nd and Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concertos. Since moving to Worcestershire in 2009 Allan has worked with groups including Malvern Festival Chorus, the Marches Community Choir, the Phoenix Singers and the Elgar Chorale. He is also a keen amateur viola player and is currently co-organist at St Leonard’s, Beauchamp Community. Allan lives with his wife Minnie near Malvern and works at Malvern College, where he is responsible for the College’s international schools programme.
