Joseph Fiala – Divertimento No 3 in Eb major
This divertimento is one of many compositions by Fiala for woodwind instruments in which he gives prominence to the Cor Anglais. Fiala, an oboe player and composer, lived most of his life in Western Bohemia and was held in high esteem by Mozart.

Dvořák – Serenade in D minor, Op 44
This work was wriKen and given its first performance, conducted by the composer, in 1878. It evokes the atmosphere of musical performances in castles of the Rococo period when aristocracy and common folk merged. The style is Slavonic with with a hint of folksong and dance rhythms.

Admission is free, with a retiring collection at the end of the concert.
Berry’s Coffee House will provide tea, coffee and home-made biscuits after the concert, with proceeds going to Mayfair.
