Exhibition Workshops 2025

We are very pleased to be hosting the following workshops this year:

Lino printing

Wednesday 30th July, 9.30am-12.30pm or 1.30-4.30pm (both now fully booked)
and now also, due to popular demand:
Thursday 31st July, 9.30am-12.30pm or 1.30-4.30pm

Led by Amanda Hillier

£35, including materials and refreshments

Amanda is a talented professional artist who lives and works in the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge. She is inspired by nature and the surrounding landscape to create illustrative artwork, limited edition lino prints and mixed media work. In addition to undertaking commissions, her work features in galleries around the country and many regional exhibitions.

This workshop will provide the opportunity to learn the art of lino printing. You will be guided through the process of image selection, using small tools to carve out sections of lino to create an image ‘in relief’, and hand printing a series of unique one-colour lino prints. Previous experience isn’t necessary.

This fun and sociable class will arm you with the skills you need to take this art form to the next level.

Peg loom weaving

Tuesday 5th August, 10am-4pm

Led by Catherine Crowther

£60, including materials and refreshments

Catherine has worked with textiles for many years and runs a variety of sewing project workshops, in addition to teaching at a local college.

Join her on this fun workshop to create a unique 40cm x 40cm sheep’s wool chair pad.

The session will start with Catherine giving instruction on how to set up and string a peg loom. Using locally sourced natural raw sheep’s wool in a variety of colours, the process of weaving will then begin. Previous experience isn’t necessary as Catherine will guide you through the process and be on hand to offer help and advice. How the technique can be adapted to use offcuts of fabric instead of wool will be explained. There will be plenty of time in a relaxed environment to complete your project ready to proudly take home at the end of the day.
